2 Vaudevillians Find Buried Treasure
Are you ready for something really different? Like 22 musical jewels from the American songbook: Chapter: Vaudeville? Let this treasure chest of family favorites and newly discovered comedic gems' give you some really magically hidden treasure.
The T & G's entertainment columnist, Scott McLennan calls this disc "a fun and entertaining romp...Singers Bill Taylor and Kelly Cassidy don't simply sing (the songs)...the pair infuses the songs with the sorts of theatrical vocal twists and turns one imagines were taking place in some theatre where Fanny Brice or Al Jolson was performing in vaudeville's heyday....Should vaudeville make a full-blown comeback, Blue Pumpkin is poised to have music fans go wild, simply wild over its work."

Rob Newton of Worcester Magazine comments in his review of the CD, "delightful collection...of 22 mostly forgotten vaudeville greats, played with great relish by cabaret performer Kelly Cassidy and Foothills Theatre veteran Bll Taylor. The songs are funny and infectious little time capsules."
From WGBH's Jazz Songbook host Ron Dellachiesa: "I love the style... You'll enjoy! Let's bring back vaudeville."
"..a treasure for those of us who love the American musical theatre." New England Entertainment Digest
"Wow...their voices are wonderful...unique and engaging vocal stylings. Each song made me excited about the next...and I was never let down!" WTAG Radio, Deb Daigle.
Conceived and directed by Marc P. Smith, "2 Vaudevillians Find Buried Treasure" sprang to life with the extraordinary talents of two superb performers: Miss Kelly Cassidy and Mr. Bill Taylor. Their exquisite professionalism breathes a different life into each song. Listen to the distinctive spin they give to each number and you'll know just why they're already established as a favorite cabaret act. From hilarity to haunting love ballads, Miss Cassidy and Mr. Taylor give voice to a sampling of the kind of music that made vaudeville THE entertainment form for a country in the making (circa 1880-1923).

Comments from the writer, director:
Let me put my thesis on the table: vaudeville music is the American folk song. Vaudeville comedy is that convergence of dozens of national funny bones into the American sense of humor. Out of the greatest wave of immigration in human history, vaudeville helped to give a new and vital dimension to e pluribus unum. Thank you, Bert Lahr, Fanny Brice, Ethel Waters, Chauncy Olcott, Al Jolson, Lillian Russell, Jimmy Durante, Bert Williams, Sophie Tucker, Gallagher and Shean, Fields and Weber, the Nicholas Brothers, Ed Wynn, Nora Bayes, and thousands of other wonderful, amazing vaudevillians whose work lives on still.
